Northos

Northos is a crescent-shaped continent comprised of temperate, lush Midlands dotted with forests and mountain ranges, harsh, unforgiving southern Icelands of rolling tundra and icy wastelands, and dangerous, barren northern Ashlands home to volcanoes and covered in a thick layer of ash.

Each area of Northos is

"Midlands" - Overview
Primarily made up of the larger landmasses Arskogur and Kaldurskogur, renowned for their natural beauty and abundance of resources. Lush woodlands carpet the rolling hills and valleys of the Midlands, teeming with diverse flora and fauna. Towering oak, maple, and pine trees dominate the landscape, their verdant canopies providing shade and shelter to a myriad of woodland creatures. Sun-dappled glades, meandering rivers, and crystal-clear lakes dot the forested expanse, while majestic mountain ranges punctuate the skyline of the Midlands, their rugged peaks reaching towards the heavens in a breathtaking display of natural grandeur. Snow-capped summits gleam in the sunlight, while cascading waterfalls and alpine meadows adorn their slopes. Deep, winding valleys and treacherous mountain passes offer both challenges and rewards to brave wolves seeking to traverse these formidable heights.

Arskogur - "Arch Forest"
Arskogur is the largest central region of the Midlands, and home to tall mountain ranges and forests.

Falnestjernefjell - "Fallen Star Mountain"
Falnestjernefjell is the tallest mountain range in all of Northos, located on the northern border of Arskogur. Its peaks pierce the night sky, and is the location of much superstition and folklore.

Sørundfjell
Sørundfjell is another mountain range found in central Arskogur.

"Icelands" - Overview
Primarily made up of the long, stretching landmass Frusetheim, a harsh and unforgiving region home to some of the most extreme climates across Northos. Endless stretches of barren tundra extend as far as the eye can see, blanketed in a thick layer of permafrost and ice. Sparse vegetation clings tenaciously to the frozen landscape, comprising hardy shrubs, mosses, and lichens adapted to the harsh conditions. Jagged ice formations and icy crevasses dominate the bleak landscape beyond the tundra, where glaciers grind relentlessly against the rocky terrain, carving out deep valleys and fjords in their inexorable march towards the sea. Blinding blizzards whip across the frozen plains, obscuring visibility and testing the mettle of even the hardiest travelers brave enough to venture into this icy abyss.

"Ashlands" - Overview
Primarily made up of Brimsund and its accompanying islands, the Ashlands are a desolate and foreboding realm of volcanic wastelands covered in a thick layer of ash. Barren expanses of scorched earth stretch across the horizon, punctuated by jagged peaks and smoldering calderas belching forth plumes of acrid smoke and ash, casting a pall of darkness over the landscape and obscuring the sun from view. Fine particles of volcanic debris blanket the ground, creating a desolate and lifeless wasteland devoid of vegetation or wildlife. Dangerous ashstorms commonly buffet the landscape, proving deadly to any creature that is not acclimated to these harsh conditions.
